Boxing Gym in a Storage Closet Helps Migrant Students Graduate

In an extraordinary example of how sports can transform lives, a storage closet at a high school has been converted into a boxing gym that is helping migrant students stay on track to graduate. The gym, located at Atlas High School, provides a safe space for students to train, build discipline, and find a sense of community. For many of these students, who have faced immense challenges in their young lives, boxing offers not only physical fitness but also a support system that encourages them to succeed academically.

The program, featured in a recent CNN report, has become a lifeline for students who might otherwise slip through the cracks. By teaching boxing fundamentals, the coaches also impart life skills such as perseverance, respect, and goal-setting. The gym's impact goes beyond the ring: participants are required to maintain their grades, and the program has seen a significant increase in graduation rates among its members. This initiative underscores the power of sports to inspire and uplift, even in the most unlikely of settings.

2026 NFL DROY Odds: Jets' David Bailey New Favorite

The race for the 2026 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year has a new leader: New York Jets' David Bailey. According to FOX Sports, Bailey's impressive preseason and early regular-season performances have catapulted him to the top of the odds list. The edge rusher has been a disruptive force, consistently getting to the quarterback and making plays in the backfield. His rise is a bright spot for a Jets defense looking to make a statement this season.

Bailey's journey to the top hasn't been easy. He was a standout in college but slipped to the second round of the draft due to concerns about his size. However, his relentless work ethic and natural instincts have silenced doubters. If he continues at this pace, he could join the ranks of elite Jets defenders. The DROY race is far from over, but Bailey has certainly made his case as the frontrunner.

MLB Adjusts NLCS Game 4 Start Time

Major League Baseball has announced a change to the start time for Game 4 of the National League Championship Series between the Milwaukee Brewers and the Los Angeles Dodgers. The game, originally scheduled for a later slot, will now start earlier to accommodate television audiences and avoid potential weather delays. This adjustment comes as the Brewers stunned the Dodgers by sweeping their way to the World Series, a feat that few saw coming.

The Brewers' unexpected dominance has captivated fans, and the scheduling change ensures that more viewers can witness the conclusion of this historic series. The Dodgers, heavy favorites entering the postseason, were unable to solve the Brewers' pitching staff, which delivered stellar performances game after game. As the Brewers advance, they await the winner of the American League Championship Series.

Broncos vs. Seahawks Takeaways: Seattle Struggles Without Key Players

The Denver Broncos secured a convincing win over the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday night, but the story of the game was Seattle's offensive struggles. Without offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak and star running back Kenneth Walker, the Seahawks looked out of sync and unable to move the ball effectively. USA TODAY's takeaways highlight the Broncos' dominant defensive performance, which pressured the quarterback and shut down the run game.

For Seattle, the loss raises questions about their depth and ability to adapt. Head coach Pete Carroll acknowledged the challenges but remained optimistic, noting that the team must find ways to overcome injuries. The Broncos, on the other hand, showcased their potential as playoff contenders with a balanced attack and a stifling defense. This game could be a turning point for both teams as they navigate the remainder of the season.

Notre Dame vs. BYU Preview: CJ Carr's Command and BYU's Defensive Front

NBC Sports' Nicole Auerbach and Joshua Perry recently previewed the upcoming matchup between Notre Dame and BYU, focusing on two key storylines: Notre Dame quarterback CJ Carr's command of the offense and BYU's formidable defensive front. Carr, a highly touted recruit, has shown maturity beyond his years, making smart decisions and leading the offense efficiently. His ability to read defenses and deliver accurate passes will be crucial against a BYU defense that prides itself on disrupting opposing quarterbacks.

BYU's defensive line has been a strength all season, generating consistent pressure and stuffing the run. They will look to rattle Carr and force him into mistakes. The game is expected to be a physical battle in the trenches, with both teams vying for a statement win. For Notre Dame, a victory would solidify their playoff hopes, while BYU aims to prove they belong among the nation's elite.
